Beate hand builds objects from flat slabs of clay and create what she calls narrative sculptures. She is inspired by her relationship with the world around her, which provides her with a never ending source of material for asking questions and telling stories on her sculptural pieces.

Over the years the forms of her sculptures have changed, but the world around us continues to challenge her to ask question and tell stories with the help of this medium that she fell in love with so many years ago.
